Parents ask High Court to Review Sex-Survey Case

Seven California parents have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a case in which the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled parents do not have the right to control what their children are taught in school.

The case started when elementary school children were given a survey containing sexually explicit questions. Kids were asked how often they touch their private parts, how often they think about sex, and how often they think about touching other people's private parts.

When parents took the issue to court, the 9th Circuit's Judge Stephen Reinhardt ruled they relinquish parental rights at the schoolhouse door.

"Schools cannot be expected to accommodate the personal, moral or religious concerns of every parent," he said.

Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, said parents do not cease being parents when their child walks through the schoolhouse gate.

"The 9th Circuit's ruling is deplorable, as it strips parents of their constitutional rights to protect their children," he said. "Parental involvement in the education of their children should be encouraged, not punished.

"This ruling is an assault on every parent whose child attends public school."

After the 9th Circuit denied an appeal, Liberty Counsel filed the petition on behalf of the parents asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case.

"No one believes when a child is dropped off at daycare, soccer practice, or summer camp that parents cease being parents," the petition reads. "Although parents might object to subjecting seven-year-old Susie to probing questions about her sexual thoughts, feelings and experiences, as long as the school does not commit treason, the 9th Circuit's decision says: 'Parents -- back off. Susie belongs to the public school.' "

Editor's Note: These surveys are happening all across America and have been for years! The socialists were intruding into students and families private lives when I was a school board member (Fall 1995 - Spring 2000). In fact, a copy of our local intrusive questionaire was sent to Congressman Henry Hyde (R-IL) approximately 10 years ago... I wonder if the Republican majority will deal with this? Or has it fallen through the cracks like so many other things in DC? Perhaps it is time to clean house? - Angela Wittman

Gov. Arnold tosses school moral codes

Bill forces condoning of homosexuality, critics say 'the gates of hell are prevailing'

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has tossed out all sexual moral conduct codes at colleges, private and Christian schools, daycare centers and other facilities throughout his state, if the institutions have any students who get state assistance.

The governor yesterday signed a bill that would require all businesses and groups receiving state funding -- even if it's a state grant for a student -- to condone homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality.
There is no exception for faith-based organizations or business owners with sincerely held religious convictions, critics note.

“The IRS has succeeded in gagging Christians.”

Rev. D. James Kennedy* has stated:

“The federal government has proved a tremendous impediment to the ongoing work of Christians. In all the laws that they have passed against Christian schools, gagging the church, taxation, and all kinds of things that they have done, they have made it harder for the church to exercise its prerogatives and to preach the gospel.

"Take the last presidential election. There were numbers of things that I knew that I was never able to say from the pulpit because if you advance the cause of one candidate or impede the cause of the other you can lose your tax exemption. That would have been disastrous not only for the church, but for our school and our seminary, everything. So you are gagged. You cannot do that. The IRS, a branch of our government, has succeeded in gagging Christians."

Acceptance of State favors has, indeed, had "disastrous" consequences on the churches in America. The church has been effectively silenced (or as Dr. Kennedy put it, "gagged"). Now the disastrous consequences are being felt by the entire nation.

Is there a remedy? Yes! The church can be re-empowered and regain the former glory and influence she once knew in America. But in order to do so the church must stop acting as an underling, as a subordinate, as a dependent, of the State. The church must cease asking for State favors.

Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. (3John 1:7)

JUST WHAT IS SO CHRISTIAN ABOUT BUSH?

By Doug Newman

August 22, 2006

Shaun White gained considerable fame from his gold medal performance as a snowboarder in this year’s Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. His abundant mop of red hair earned him the nickname of “The Flying Tomato.”

Shaun White is not really a tomato. People just call him that.

When he was running for president in 2000, George W. Bush said that Jesus had touched his heart. Hence, millions of Christians think that he is this wonderful noble Christian man. Just because people say he is a Christian, does that make him one?

It is not for me to judge whether or not Bush is a Christian. That is between him and his Maker. It is my duty, however, to evaluate the fruit on his tree against the yardstick of Scripture.

Bush and abortion

Is Our Christian President (OCP) pro-life? Well, over $100 million in federal taxpayer money goes to Planned Parenthood every year. This could not happen without the signature of OCP. (And if "he didn't know what he was signing", why did he sign it to begin with?)

And didn’t OCP sign a ban on partial birth abortions? Well, yes he did. The problem is, however, that this bill so narrowly defined this gruesome procedure that it only outlawed it for about ten seconds out of a nine month pregnancy.

When OCP was governor of Texas, that state’s supreme court ruled 6-3 that a 17-year-old girl could get an abortion without parental consent. Governor Bush nominated four of the justices in the majority and was an ally of a fifth. That alone would make for a majority.

I know, I know: OCP’s only veto was of a bill that increased federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. However, he is not opposed to some taxpayer funding for research using dead babies. In August 2001, he authorized federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

(For an incredibly detailed and impeccably documented account of how OCP is no pro-lifer, please read this article by Patrick Johnston, OD.)

In the Mind of Christ

By Rev. R.J. Rushdoony

California Farmer 244:11 (June 5, 1976), p. 35.

Proverbs 12:5 tells us that “[t]he thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.”

The word “thoughts” here means essentially the plans, principles, and the intentions that we live by, the governing direction of our lives. It does not mean our every thought but the basic governing thinking of a man which reveals itself in action. It is that which St. Paul speaks of when he says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5). St. Paul is not speaking of a mere profession of faith but of a life so lived that it manifests the governing power of Christ and His Word.

Solomon goes on to tell us that “the counsels of the wicked are deceit.” The word “counsels” has the same meaning as “thoughts,” and “deceit” means “underhanded.” It refers, not to the practices of open evildoers and criminals, but to hypocrites. Such wicked men are deceitful or underhanded in that they profess one thing and do another. They profess to believe in the Lord, but their intentions are to exploit the cover of Christian faith for other purposes. Their “counsels” are thus hidden and underhanded.

All this seems obvious enough, but do we apply it? In an election year, do we go by a man’s promises or his charismatic appeal, all of which can be full of deceit, or are we ready to examine the mind they manifest?
We have not yet had anyone run for office, or apply for a job, or serve as a pastor, on a program of planned deceit. Instead, they offer us fair promises which offer us solutions by programs, but which bring us only more troubles, or more troubles with taxes.

Something is wrong with them, and with us. If we are conned once or twice, our human failings and shortcomings can readily explain it. However, if we are conned regularly, it means that something is radically wrong with us. It means that our mind and thought is not the mind of Christ but of a fool, a sucker, one who wants something for nothing and gets instead nothing for something.

Either we live in the mind of Christ, or we go on voting ourselves out of one thing after another, including our freedom.

Teddy Bear Shelter

I saw my son for the first time today. It was horrible. Francis Caccovale, the visitation supervisor, met me at the shelter. When I saw my son, I ran over to him. He stood there, hunched over, arms hanging at his sides, completely spaced out, as though he had a lobotomy. I kept saying,” Ruffles, it’s Mama.” He was totally gone. I couldn’t reach him. I took him to the back room with Francis, who documented everything. I got out our baby book scrapbook to read to him. He finally became more responsive, but was still very passive. I asked if he was on any medication, and Francis said no. I sat, holding him on the couch, for almost an hour. Francis commented on how well he could read, spell, and count.

She asked if I had ever thought about going into Early Childhood Development for a career. I replied that I was considering that or teaching when Rafe was older. She commented on how good I was with him, and said he needed to go home with me, as there was no abuse or neglect, that was evident by his reactions and by the baby book that I was reading to him. It has all of his certificates and activities, and is the same baby book that Corie Adams, the initial investigative caseworker, tried to keep from me at our first interview. I held him the whole time and we sang songs, looked at his baby book, and read books. He was very quiet, but seemed to be content looking at familiar things from home.

It took quite awhile for him to come around. He seemed gone mentally. When he did finally spell a few words, he looked at me as if to say, I am being good now, can I go home? The poor child was in shock. They said he is not eating. In 20 minutes he ate 4 big pieces of my zucchini nut bread, two helpings of yogurt, 3 helpings of pureed fruit, 4 pieces of cheese, and 10 ounces of Ovaltine chocolate milk. He ate as though he hadn’t eaten in weeks, which they said he had not eaten much.

My child was in horrible condition. When we got to the room, I smelled limburger cheese; it was my son. He stunk so badly. He was filthy and his mouth smelled like a garbage can. I tried to leave his toothbrush and toothpaste, but they said he shares with other children, so I should not leave them as the other children would use it. I left a clean outfit for them to put on him. It was quite obvious that my son has not had a bath the whole time he has been there. All the other children ran up to me starved for attention, but my son just stood there like a zombie.

Parting time was worse than any hell I could ever imagine. I gave him hugs and said Mama will be back in a week. He did not cry. He simply clenched his eyes so tight he had wrinkles everywhere, clenched his teeth to the point I thought they would break, and turned his head to the side. It looked as if he was in the worst pain imaginable, as if to say, Oh God, No. I felt like dying. I handed him over, went out to the car, and cried for God to help us. It was the worst day of my life...

Please read more here.

Every evil work

By Wayne Harris

What is in your heart? One answer is motives. Motives motivate.

When homicide detectives scour the area, what is a primary concern? Motive is a primary concern. Why? Motives motivate.

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” (James 3:16, KJV)

The young woman was the wife of a military man on his way home from Operation Desert Storm. She had a wicked motive at work in her heart for this Desert Storm hero. This motive motivated her to murder him. She became the main suspect immediately.

Her husband was worth $100,000.00 dollars in insurance money upon death. Her brother joined her in ambushing this unsuspecting American warrior. Both were quickly caught.

The motive, $100,000.00 dollars motivated them to commit murder. It also led them to a new home-the penitentiary. They took a life and lost their freedom because they harbored murder deep inside.

In the past I wondered why people suddenly turned against me for seemingly no reason. Why would they suddenly mark me off? In retrospect I believe the answer is motive. The motive culprit in many cases is envy.

Have you ever wondered how many dastardly deeds have been committed due to envy? How many relationships have been ruined because of jealousy? Wanting what someone else has can produce powerful poison.

If confusion and every evil work flow from envy, then we can deduce that envy is deadly poison. It is a sneaky thing with a horrifically ugly head. When envy’s head is raised it is like a rattlesnake on the verge of striking.

When someone has more I can either rejoice over his or her blessings, or I can envy what they have. I can burn with a desire to have what they own and more. I look through poisoned eyes, hear through poisoned ears and act under the motivation that is like arsenic to the soul.

I am wise when I keep a close guard on my motives. Am I motivated by envy and self-seeking, or am I motivated by a pure heart, solely serving out of love and sincerity? I need to keep a clean heart that is not aroused by envy and strife.

When I want something someone else has, envying what they have, my motives are out of sync. If I cause trouble from an impure, self-seeking heart, I am part of the problem. I must do whatever it takes to become part of the solution.

When we are motivated by envy we are not operating honestly. Envy robs us of true joy. Envy distorts the view of everything.

Sue could never enjoy her husband because she envied Brenda. Brenda’s husband was rich and handsome. Sue’s relationship with Brenda was not honest. Brenda believed they were best friends. They could not be honest best friends due to envy. Longing to have what Brenda had ruined all happiness for Sue.

Anyone can envy anyone. A superstar football player can envy another superstar football player if that player has more money and fame. The problem is that envy ruins enjoyment.

You can have a great family and be miserable. How? You can look at somebody else’s family through eyes of envy. By being so busy with envy you can miss the blessing inside your four walls.

As a young person said a few years ago, “I may not know much, but I do know that what I don’t know, I know I don’t know.” Well, I do know that the devil is a spoiler. He promotes envy and strife. Stirring up discontent is one of his major gifts.

Let envy and strife boil over in a person’s heart and watch his or her tongue start wagging. Lies and dissensions will be like giant sores on the troublemaker’s lips.

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” (James 3:6, KJV)

What is in your heart? Check it out. Let Jesus clean it out. Do not let envy and strife steal away your joy.

PHILLIES: FREEDOM FROM HOMOSEXUALITY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST IS DEROGATORY

August 21, 2006

PHILADELPHIA - On Friday, August 18, the Philadelphia Phillies held their fourth annual "Gay Community Night" at Citizens Bank Park as Repent America (RA) greeted the attendees with the Word of God concerning homosexuality."The Philadelphia Phillies have once again rolled out the red carpet to those who celebrate sexually deviant behavior by hosting 'Gay Community Night' at the ballpark," stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. "As in previous years, we returned to minister the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are in bondage to this self-destructive lifestyle, and to call on the Phillies to end their promotion of homosexuality," he continued.

Prior to the game, RA engaged in distributing Gospel literature, individual conversation, open-air preaching, and displaying two banners, one offering hope to homosexuals, and the other, calling on the Phillies to end their promotion of homosexuality.

During the first two years of the event in 2003 and 2004, RA was ejected from the ballpark for displaying a banner declaring freedom from homosexuality through Jesus Christ, which read, "HOMOSEXUALITY IS SIN, CHRIST CAN SET YOU FREE." Last year, however, RA made a significant impact when it was free to display the banner in the stadium without interruption.

This year, after pressure from homosexual activists, the Phillies changed their banner policy to state that "banners and signs may not bear a message that contains derogatory manner relating to ... sexual orientation," and refused to allow RA into the city-owned ballpark. Phillies officials even went to the extreme of searching their databases for ticket purchases associated with RA to ensure that access would be denied.

"It is deeply disturbing that the Phillies are helping to advance the homosexual agenda, and that they have declared the Biblical message of freedom from homosexuality through Jesus Christ to be derogatory," Marcavage continued. "It breaks my heart that children are being exposed to this perverse lifestyle in what should be a family-friendly environment. The Phillies' promotion of homosexuality is certainly not helping their game either since they have lost every year on 'Gay Community Night'," Marcavage concluded.

Criminal Charges Against Pastor Dropped

Praise the Lord that through the efforts of attorneys for the Christian Law Association all criminal charges have been dropped against an OHIO pastor who was arrested for presenting the Gospel.

This faithful pastor and his church members have been attending public events for many years to share the Gospel. At these outdoor events in the public parks, members distribute flyers that include a schedule of events with a clear Gospel message and an invitation to their church on the back. Their handouts always include a disclaimer that the flyer is provided by their church and is not an official program. Church members have found this to be a very effective way of presenting the Gospel to thousands of people over the years.

This year, for his city's Fourth of July picnic in the park, the pastor prepared a flyer with the schedule of songs to be played in the outdoor concert by the local orchestra and the names of special guest performers to appear at the public program. He prepared the witnessing flyer as he had done many times before. The flyer also included patriotic statements about America's Founding Fathers and the Christian influence they had on our nation.

While the pastor was at the concert in the public park passing out the flyers, he was approached by a city police officer who ordered him to stop his activities and turn over the flyers. When the pastor refused, he was put in hand cuffs and forced to sit on the curb, in plain view of thousands of people, for thirty minutes! The pastor was then charged with disorderly conduct and spent the evening in jail!

When attorneys from the Christian Law Association were contacted for assistance, we immediately set out to defend this pastor and prevent any further injustice. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for this week, and the pastor had been offered a deal to plead to a lesser charge and pay a fine for his soul winning activities. Since the pastor has a constitutional right to engage in his distribution activities in the park, CLA attorneys contacted the local prosecutor and insisted that all charges against the pastor dropped. Thankfully, the prosecutors took another view of their case against the pastor, and have now dropped all charges outright! The pastor's legal nightmare is over, and we and his church are praising the Lord for this good outcome. Despite the legal difficulties he encountered at the Fourth of July "freedom celebration" event, Pastor and his church members were able to pass out approximately 22,000 Gospel flyers without incident at a second local event later in the summer!

CLA is committed to keeping America free for the Gospel message. In America, we are not required to keep the Gospel inside the walls of our churches but have a constitutional right to take the Gospel message to the streets.

For more information on your legal right to witness, check out our publication, Witnessing in Modern America, available to order from our website.

The Social Worker At Your Door: 10 Helpful Hints

By Christopher J. Klicka, Senior Counsel for the
Home School Legal Defense Association

April 19, 2006

More and more frequently, homeschoolers are turned in on child abuse hotlines to social service agencies. Families who do not like homeschoolers can make an anonymous phone call to the child abuse hotline and fabricate abuse stories about homeschoolers. The social worker then has an obligation to investigate. Each state has a different policy for social workers, but generally they want to come into the family's home and speak with the children separately. To allow either of these to occur involves great risk to the family.

The homeschool parent, however, should be very cautious when an individual identifies himself as a social worker. In fact, there are several tips that a family should follow:
  • Always get the business card of the social worker. This way, when you call the Home School Legal Defense Association, the HSLDA attorney will be able to contact the social worker on your behalf. If the situation is hostile, immediately call HSLDA and hand the phone out the door so an HSLDA lawyer can talk to the social worker. We have a 24 hour emergency number.
  • Find out the allegations. Do not fall for the frequently used tactic of the social worker who would tell the unsuspecting victim that they can only give you the allegations after they have come into your home and spoken to your child separately.

You do not have to let the social worker in your house without a warrant or court order, unless there is a true emergency in your home. All the cases that you have heard about where children are snatched from the home usually involve families waiving their Fourth Amendment right to be free from such searches and seizures by agreeing to allow the social worker to come inside the home. A warrant requires a probable cause which does not include an anonymous tip or a mere suspicion. This is guaranteed under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution as interpreted by the courts.

It is difficult not to let the social worker talk to your children alone without a court order. On nearly every other incident, HSLDA has been able to keep the social worker away from the children. On a few occasions, social workers have been allowed to talk with children, particularly where severe allegations are involved. In these instances, an attorney, chosen by the parent, has been present. At other times, HSLDA had children stand by the door and greet the social worker, but not be subject to any questioning. Nevertheless, federal law requires all social workers to tell you the specific allegations at the "initial time of contact."

Tell the official that you will call back after you speak with your attorney. Call your attorney or HSLDA, if you are a member. In nearly 30 percent of the cases, the problem is solved immediately that day by HSLDA lawyers. Approximately 65 percent of the situations are resolved within the next two weeks. Of the remaining 5 percent, 1 percent goes to court and is handled by HSLDA. The 4 percent that cannot be resolved do not involve home schooling and are referred to other attorneys since they are not covered by HSLDA.

Ignore intimidations. Normally, social workers are trained to bluff. They will routinely threaten to acquire a court order, knowing full well that there is no evidence on which to secure an order. In 99 percent of the contacts that HSLDA handles, the threats turn out to be bluffs. However, it is always important to secure an attorney or HSLDA in these matters, since there are occasions where social workers are able to obtain a court order with flimsy evidence.

Offer to give the officials the following supporting evidence:

  • A statement from your doctor, after he has examined your children, if the allegations involve some type of physical abuse;
  • References from individuals who can vouch for your being good parents;
  • Evidence of the legality of your homeschool program. If your homeschool is an issue, HSLDA attorneys routinely convince social workers of this aspect of an investigation.
  • Bring a tape recorder and/or witnesses to any subsequent meeting. Often times HSLDA will arrange a meeting between the social worker and the parents after preparing the parents on what to discuss and what not to discuss. The discussion at the meeting should be limited to the specific allegations and you should avoid telling them about past events beyond what they know. Usually, anonymous tips are all they have to go on, which is not sufficient to take someone to court. What you give them can and will be used against you.
Inform your church, and put the investigation on your prayer chain. Over and over again, HSLDA has seen God deliver homeschoolers from this scary scenario.
  • Avoid potential situations which could lead to a child welfare investigation.
  • Do public relations with your immediate neighbors and acquaintances regarding the legality and success of homeschooling.
  • Do not spank children in public.
  • Do not spank someone else's child unless they are close Christian friends.
  • Avoid leaving young children at home alone, or in an automobile.

In order for a social worker to get a warrant to come and enter a home and interview children separately, he is normally required, by both statute and the U.S. Constitution, to prove that there is some cause. This is a term that is synonymous with the term probable cause. Probable cause or cause shown is reliable evidence which must be corroborated by other evidence if the tip is anonymous. In other words, an anonymous tip alone and mere suspicion is not enough for a social worker to obtain a warrant.

There have been some homeschooled families who have been faced with a warrant even though there was not probable cause. HSLDA has been able to overturn these in court so that the order to enter the home was never carried out. Home School Legal Defense Association is committed to guarantee legal defense for every homeschooler who is being investigated by social workers, provided the allegations involve homeschooling. In instances when the allegations have nothing to do with homeschooling, HSLDA will routinely counsel most families on how to meet with the social worker and will talk to the social worker to try to resolve the situation. If it cannot be resolved, which it normally can be in most instances by HSLDA's involvement, the family is responsible for hiring their own attorney.HSLDA is beginning to work with states to reform the child welfare laws to guarantee more freedom for parents and better protection for their parental rights. HSLDA will be sending out Alerts to its members in various states where such legislation is drafted and submitted as a bill.

For further information on how to deal with social workers, HSLDA recommends The Right Choice: The Incredible Failure of Public Education and the Rising Hope of Home Schooling, which was written with the intention of informing home-school parents of their rights in order to prevent them from becoming a statistic. Federal statistics have shown that up to 60 percent of children removed from homes, upon later review, should never have been removed. The child welfare system is out of control and we need to be prepared.

LONDON, August 15, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – This week, a popular BBC radio announcer told the public that she had entered into a “suicide pact” with friends should she be incapacitated by illness.

Jenni Murray, the presenter of BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, a feminist and euthanasia advocate, said that she does not want to be “trapped” into caring for her mother who is ill with Parkinson’s disease.

Murray, a member of the Order of the British Empire and a patron of the Family Planning Association, is airing her views tonight on a BBC television program called “Don’t Get Me Started.”

Publicity material for the show says that Murray “plans to end her own life when she becomes a burden to those around her.” She discusses methods, including smothering with a pillow or injecting with drugs, with two friends, The network said: "Jenni is angry that, having fought so hard to become liberated and independent, women are now being trapped into caring for dependent parents." Murray complains that the law against assisted suicide is supported by a “religious minority” who hold to an outdated moral view that human life is inherently valuable and that children have a legitimate obligation to care for elderly parents. The program highlights the growth, especially in Britain, of the idea of an “obligation to die.”

Most leading thinkers in the bioethics field endorse euthanasia and assisted suicide and often argue that elderly and ill patients have the obligation to end their lives to relieve pressure on families and the health care system.

In 2004, Baroness Mary Warnock, Britain’s leader in bioethics, said unequivocally that the ill and elderly had an obligation to die as soon as possible so as not to burden relatives and the medical system.

Baroness Warnock, called Britain's “Philosopher Queen”, said in an interview, “In other contexts sacrificing oneself for one's family would be considered good. I don't see what is so horrible about the motive of not wanting to be an increasing nuisance.” She said, “I am not ashamed to say some lives are more worth living than others.”

Dictatorship and Freedom

By Rev. R.J. Rushdoony

August 14, 2006California Farmer 243:8 (Nov. 15, 1975), p. 19.

In almost every instance that totalitarianism has taken over a major country, it has done so in the name of liberty. People welcome tyranny in the belief that their liberties are being greatly increased.

In only one direction is their freedom increased, however, and it is the “freedom” to sin. When the Mazdakites took over the great Persian Empire and all but destroyed it, their appeal was to freedom, freedom for sexual communism, and freedom to seize all private property. Greece and Rome had earlier taken the same route: sexual freedom was given increasingly to people while their political liberties were removed, and their properties confiscated by taxation.

The Renaissance was an age of the triumph of dictators and widespread sexual freedom, when men thought they were liberated from God and free to do as they pleased. The triumph of Lenin was both preceded and attended by the rise of sexual freedom, and the same was true of Hitler.
The banner of sexual freedom is thus simply a deception which spells slavery. It leads men to forsake responsibility for license, and freedom for bondage. The increase of this so-called sexual freedom in our day is thus the prelude, if unchecked, for dictatorship and tyranny.

James calls God’s law “the perfect law of liberty” (James 1:25), because it is the obedience of faith which makes men strong and free. Freedom to sin is not freedom but slavery. It leads, not to the liberation, but to the enslavement of man and the disintegration of his society.

The only freedom which the sexual liberation movements produce is freedom for totalitarianism and tyranny. The world is being made safe for slavery by all such people.

Our freedom is in Christ. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).

What's the Product?

By: Reed R. Heustis, Jr.

August 13, AD 2006

Principled Christians in politics are often accused of not being able "to work" with others unless they are in complete agreement on 100% of the issues, 100% of the time. Such an obtuse accusation is nothing short of disingenuous.

In any realm of life, an organization is only as good as its product. Before joining an organization and supporting its mission, the very first question one must ask is what’s the product?

Christians are certainly allowed, able and willing to work with non-Christians on a plethora of goals in life. It depends on what the final product is.

If both liberal feminists and Christian Constitutionalists support the banning of pornography and prostitution as a quirky result of an intersection of their worldviews, then both may temporarily join forces to pursue that goal. Therefore hypothetically, if a local Christian councilman agreed with his feminist colleague on the issue of a zoning ordinance against pornographic peddlers, then there is nothing wrong with the combining of his vote with hers to obtain the end product.

Other examples also abound. If an activist who happened to be a self-proclaimed homosexual sought increased border control in accord with the viewpoint of a Christian activist, then there is nothing wrong with both temporarily working together to accomplish that limited goal. The end product is not at odds with Biblical Christianity.

The same is true for the commercial realm. Christians are allowed to work with non-Christians for a company whose goals do not run afoul of Christian principles.

The plumbing industry is one example where the end product is not necessarily at odds with Christianity. When a pipe explodes, a homeowner will hire a plumber because he needs his pipes fixed. A Christian plumber and a non-Christian plumber are equally able to provide the same end product. Therefore, a Christian plumber is allowed to work for a non-Christian plumbing company whose end product is mere plumbing service. As long as the employer is not advancing an anti-Christian agenda, the Christian employee is not compromising principle while employed.

The sports industry is another example where the end product is not necessarily at odds with Christianity. A professional baseball club’s main product is a competitive baseball team. As long as the club is not promoting an anti-Christian agenda, Christian ballplayers should have no problem working with non-Christians toward a common goal of winning baseball games. The final score at the end of each game is determined by how many runs each team scores at the end of nine innings, not by how many Christians came up to bat.

In the realm of politics, political parties also provide an end product, but pose a quite different dilemma for the Christian. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the ultimate products produced by a political party are its candidates and the principles they hold, and not merely the victories at the ballot box. When a party’s candidate wins an election, the principles held by that candidate also win. This should concern each and every Christian in politics.

In order to attract (and produce) ideal potential candidates, the leaders of a political party draft a platform of principles and enact resolutions in pursuance of such platform. Together this platform and the party’s actions produce the quality of its product, its candidates.

The first and foremost principle in Law and Politics is the Sovereign Kingship of Jesus Christ, the supreme Lord and King of all the world. This should be the top priority and concern for the Christian in the legal and political realms.

When Christian voters realize that the main goal of their party is its collective product, they should immediately ask, What’s the product? If it is a product that falls short of proclaiming and upholding Christ’s Kingship, then the Christian should disaffiliate from that party.

There are two main methods by which a political party promotes and produces an un-Christian product. First, if the party does not explicitly proclaim the Kingship of Jesus Christ as its First Principle, then the party promotes an un-Christian product. The Republican Party is a perfect example of this. Although too many Christians have been bamboozled into believing that the GOP is somehow a friend of the Christian voter, the framers of the GOP platform refuse to acknowledge King Jesus and His Sovereignty. Therefore, its products are ultimately un-Christian, which explains why the Republican Party continues to resemble the Democratic Party with each passing election cycle.

Second, assuming the party already explicitly proclaims Christ’s Kingship in the platform, if the party pursues resolutions and actions that run afoul of such proclamation, then the party likewise promotes an un-Christian product. The national Constitution Party is a perfect (and sad) example of this. Whereas many Christians fled the GOP to join the Constitution Party as a result of its proclamation of Christ and its unwavering stand for Life, the Constitution Party’s recent actions of tolerating and promoting barbaric feticide in accord with demonic Mormon theology demonstrate its dedication to a contrary end product.

Since Christians in America remain free to influence government, Christians have a duty to select and prefer Christians as their rulers. But they cannot do this using their own political party if it is not likewise committed. A political party organization is supposed to act as a tool to be used to effect a certain result. If the tool ceases to be effective, then the tool must be discarded.

If Christians are to affiliate with a particular political party, then they must affiliate with a party that not only proclaims the Kingship of Jesus Christ, but also boldly acts in accord with such proclamation.

Does this mean that Christians cannot work with non-Christians in politics? Of course not.

Christians are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Although they are not "of" this world, Christians are in the world, and if they simply withdraw from the world, then their salt and light becomes worthless to the world.

Outside of an explicitly Christian political party, one of which is the American Heritage Party, Christians may work with strange bedfellows in pursuance of common goals. The Christian should be the non-Christian’s best and most reliable neighbor. But when it comes to a combined effort to establish and build an organization such as a political party, Christians are obligated to ask, "What’s the product?"

Nothing less than the Crown Rights of King Jesus will suffice.

WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY IN THE WAR ON TERROR… AND HE IS US

By Doug Newman

August 12, 2006

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the vise grip tightening?

Thursday’s news read as follows: “Airline passengers around the country stood in line for hours and airport trash bins bulged with everything from mouthwash and shaving cream to maple syrup and fine wine Thursday in a security crackdown prompted by the discovery of a terror plot in Britain.”

Imagine this. In “the land of the free and the home of the brave” there is a “security crackdown.” Crackdown on whom, may I ask?

United Airlines posted updated TSA regulations – including a ban on all liquids or gels in carry-on baggage -- on its web site on August 10, in response to the discovery of the terror plot. Hmm. Perhaps I am naïve, but I thought that things like this had to be passed by legislators and signed by the president before I could be arrested for violating them.

But no. We have a War on Terror. The executive branch has to act and act fast! It is for your protection. I mean they have to do something.

We are told that we are fighting a war against terrorists who “hate our freedom” and seek to “undermine our very way of life.”

If America succumbs to full-blown tyranny it will not be because of crazed, diabolical “Islamo-Fascists.” It will be because the American people willingly relinquished their freedom in the name of security.

America has two constitutions. One was ordained and established in Philadelphia in 1787. The other exists in the hearts and minds of the American people and far more important. If “we the people” are ignorant, apathetic and downright unwilling to defend their God-given rights, the written Constitution becomes just a piece of paper.

Ever since September 11, the American people have been all too happy to let the FEDGOV do whatever it pleases. We applaud the USA PATRIOT Act. We submit to the TSA grope-and-grab at airports. We have no objection to warrantless searches. We could care less if Uncle Sam monitors our e-mails and phone calls. After all, “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” and “your civil liberties don’t matter if you’re dead.”

My response to this is: “Just how do you know you have nothing to hide?”

Consider the following:

Americans have already accepted all ten policy planks of the Communist Manifesto as the law of the land.

Millions of Americans don’t mind one bit that we have the world’s highest incarceration rate.
The Federal Register – Uncle Sam’s compendium of laws and regulations with which you and I are required to comply – runs 70,000 pages. Do you know what is in there? Do you? If you violate it, prepare to don an orange jumpsuit.

The Internal Revenue code runs 11,000,000 words. Again: do you know what is in there?

The worst part of the post-9/11 agenda is Uncle Sam’s assumption of power to imprison terror suspects arbitrarily and indefinitely without formal charges, without the right to face their accuser, without a jury trial or without any semblance of due process whatsoever.

What was that about “threatening our very way of life”? This is not the doing of some psychopath in Afghanistan. It is the doing of our own government. And it is all in the name of freedom, of course.

As one observer put it: “On September 11, 2001 a horrible crime was committed. On September 12, 2001 the American people became suspects.” Of far greater danger than terrorists abroad is how unquestioningly so many Americans have accepted their new status.

First it was 9/11 and the growth of the surveillance state. Then it was Thursday's unveiling of a terrorist plot in Britain and new restrictions on what we can carry on planes. What will come after the next terrorist episode, be it an attack or an arrest? And how calmly will the American people accept whatever laws or regulations Uncle Sam hands down? As an old German proverb says, freedom dies in little pieces.

During the Clinton years, it was popular to say that you loved your country but you feared your government. Under Bush II, the same people want you to think that if you do not follow in lockstep with your government, you are all kinds of unspeakable things.

Police state groupies tell us that these are temporary measures necessary to keep us safe from terrorists. Ben Franklin once remarked that those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither. The German people in the 1930s were happy to sacrifice their liberties to a leader who would keep them secure. They did this for 12 years. For the 8871st time, Bush II is not Adolf Hitler. However, the American people are in total denial that their own government, left unchecked, can do far more harm than any foreign terrorist.

In the case of Ex Parte Milligan in 1866, Supreme Court Justice David Davis wrote: “The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances. No doctrine, involving more pernicious consequences, was ever invented by the wit of man than that any of its provisions can be suspended during any of the great exigencies of government. Such a doctrine leads directly to anarchy or despotism.”

The anarchy of which Justice Davis wrote was that of unrestrained power. When you let people do whatever they want, you get Woodstock. When you let governments do whatever they want, you get Auschwitz.

So what do we do about terror? Simple. Get out of the superpower business. Stop trying to run the whole world. When you have troops in 130 countries, is it any wonder that so many people hate you? Bring the troops home. Use your military to defend your shores and borders and be done with it.

It is hard for a lot of Americans, blinded as they are by hubris, to understand, but most of the world does not want our way of life. And the more bombs we drop, the more they will hate us.

As Pat Buchanan has stated, "To Islamic peoples, whether the Crusaders come in the name of God or in the name of democracy, they are still Crusaders." And they want the Crusaders gone. Buchanan has also stated that, “The price of empire is terror. The price of occupation is terror. The price of interventionism is terror.”Terrorists do not “hate us for our freedom.” They hate our relentless meddling in the internal affairs of their nations. The problems of the Arab world are not America’s to fix. So let us quit trying to fix them.

The people who have no problem with the advancing police state are many of the same people who so harshly criticized France for not joining America in invading Iraq in 2003. France had a terrorist problem at one point. And then they pulled out of Algeria.

The whole business brings to mind the comic strip character Pogo, who once remarked that “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

Such is the case in the War on Terror. It is not “the terrorists” who want to take away our freedom. It is the United States government, aided and abetted by the ignorance and apathy of so many Americans who will gladly trade freedom for security. The German people did this 70 years ago, with grisly results. Let us pray that this does not happen in America. There is no guarantee that it can’t.

Playing the villain

By Wayne Harris

Most villains die at the end of the story!

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrows were famous villains. They robbed banks and killed people. Americans living in the gangster age helped them become folk heroes. Now, for the news Bonnie and Clyde would have considered bad. They died young. They died riddled full of holes.

Saddam Hussein has played the role of global villain. Everyone with an ounce of common sense knows that he murdered innocents. He also tortured his own people. Unless he finds another Johnny Cochran he could find his way to the gallows.

Billy the Kid died young. He was a murderous rogue. Lawman Pat Garrett reportedly shot him in the back.

Villains sometimes die alone in bunkers from self-inflicted wounds. After their short-lived romp, there comes a reckoning. Their miserable lives come to an abrupt and dishonorable end.

All of Al Capone’s villainous ways caught up with him. He ended up rotting away in exile. He died a disgusting death. Dishonor and disgrace were pock marks on his image.

Judas Iscariot may be the most famous villain of all time. He ratted on Jesus. This betrayer died a sordid death.

Most villains die wretched deaths. Have you ever seen some of the pictures of powerful organized crime bosses sprawled out dead on the ground? Their bullet riddled bodies leave a lasting impression.

Villains do not get it. A lifestyle of doing evil deeds is a prescription for disaster. John Dillinger the gangster found out. Villains cannot even enjoy an evening out at the movies. He was ripped to pieces by Melvin Purvis and the F.B.I. as a young man. What amount of bank money is worth that?

Goliath the giant learned how quickly villains can be reduced to dust. He tangled with the wrong person when he challenged David. Another one bit the dust.

John Wilkes Booth played the role of villain. He shot President Abraham Lincoln in the head at Ford’s Theater. His young life ended shortly thereafter. Villains generally die at the end of the story.

Lee Harvey Oswald never made it to trial. He was bound and determined to meet the end he met. He ran around with communists, stalked people and pulled off the assassination of John F. Kennedy. What did he gain? He gained notoriety. He earned disrespect. He went down in history as a dishonorable human being. And, by the way, he died young. Jack Ruby, another despicable character, killed him with a pistol. Oswald lived and died by the sword!

Pharaoh of Egypt was a famous villain. He enslaved God’s people. What an error in judgment.

Pharaoh suffered for his wickedness. Villains do not tend to live comfortable lives. The villain who wrestles with God always loses. He lost his workforce and son due to his insolence towards God.

The monument to Bonnie and Clyde is a bullet-riddled automobile. Saddam’s monument, the large statue of him in Baghdad, is remembered worldwide as it fell to the ground. He sits in prison. His sons are dead. What is it that villains gain?

Romans 6:23 (KJV) says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Most of us do not think of ourselves as villains. Villains probably do not think of themselves as villains. Nevertheless, whenever we go against God’s will we are stepping into the shoes of the villain.

Sin kills! In an insidious way it wraps tentacles around your throat and starts squeezing. Before the lost sinner realizes that he or she is in the death throes, it is over.

Sins and mistakes are not one in the same. You can forget to look down, step on a child’s skate and go tumbling down the stairs. Not looking down is not a sin. It is a mistake.

Placing the skate on the stairs to cause someone to fall and get hurt is a sin. God tolerates mistakes. He does not tolerate sin.

Take sin seriously. If you have rebelled or are in a state of rebellion toward God, repent. Your sin will not cost God. It will cost you. Don’t play the villain.

A Ministry of Healing

By
Angela Wittman

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. (Matthew 4:23 KJV)

August 13, 2006

Dear Friends,

This editorial is written to draw attention to the ministry of healing which our Lord Jesus Christ found so much worth in, that He, the Son of God, participated in it. As a Christian Medical Assistant, I can tell you from experience that ministering to others in the art of healing is not at all glamorous, nor is it an easy job. In fact, the work is physically and emotionally draining; and if you are expecting gratitude from others for your hard work, it may be long in coming. But if you are looking for a way to show compassion and mercy to others, then this may be the job for you.

I recently received a health update from a friend who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I was so impressed with her praise for her doctor that I asked if I may share it, and she has agreed. Please read how this woman appreciated the compassion shown her while she was being prepared for surgery and cared for by Christian medical staff:

The day of surgery was an answer to prayer. I was treated like Dr. Rose's one and only patient (which I am sure I was not). Upon arrival at Bryn Mawr Hospital, he met me in nuclear med for a dye injection, then leisurely walked me to the surgical waiting area where I was met by a wonderful nurse and anesthesiologist. They were supportive and caring as I went to OR at 8:30 sharp. Upon entering the room, I asked if there were any Christians present and a couple women acknowledged they were. They reassured me and I slept peacefully! I awoke to joyful sounds and encouraging words in the recovery area and was transported to my room …

The 3-11 shift brought me two Christian nurses that spent significant time with me after my family went home. As prayed for, God provided me many Christian health care providers, a smooth anesthesia experience and recovery, and a caring, compassionate Dr. I can honestly say I have never experienced such a positive hospital environment anywhere in my entire life!

Now, to my colleagues in the health field, I must sadly point out that many have become hard and cold as they interact with patients and fellow co-workers. It seems the focus is not as much on saving lives and healing as it is on reaching quotas and making money. I am sure many of you went into medicine with good intentions, but have found the pressure to perform and to see a certain number of patients each day overwhelming and then you eventually compromised. My hope and prayer is that you will reexamine your motive for going into the health field, and if you are sincere in wanting to heal others, you will resist the temptation to treat your healing ministry as a business.

Another point I hope to bring to your attention, if you are Christian, is for you to pray for and share the Gospel message with your patients and co-workers. Instead of prescribing drugs for a patient who is experiencing mild depression or sleep disturbances due to stress, why not point them to the One who has healed your soul and reconciled you to Himself – the Saviour – Jesus Christ?

After all, the Great Physician has shown us mercy and compassion, may we do the same for others.

Meet the Press, Sunday, August 6, 2006

Excerpt from transcript:[emphasis added]

MR. RUSSERT: The president referred to the conflict of the Middle East as “a moment of opportunity.” And another Bush -- former Bush administration official, Richard Haass, had this to say -- he is now the head of the Council on Foreign Relations. And Mr. Haass made these comments: He “laughed at the president’s public optimism. ‘An opportunity?’ Haass said with an incredulous tone... That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time. If this is an opportunity, what’s Iraq? A once-in-a-lifetime chance?’”

These are former Bush administration officials.

DR. RICE: Yes, and I, I know Richard well, and I’m very fond of him. Known him for a long time. But it’s short-sighted, extremely short-sighted analysis. And I would think that if people look back on the history of how things have changed, they will recognize that opportunity very often comes out of crisis.

Of course, well said like a good Illuminati player, Miss Rice: Ordo Ab Chao -"Order out of Chaos" - Globalist Elites like yourself enable and take advantage of opportune moments of all kinds of chaos, and then advance your pre-planned "Order" of a Global Government, the "New World Order" described by former President Bush.

First, the globalist plan calls for Regional Governments like the European Union, and the proposed North American Union, and eventually, your prized goal of a 21st Century Tower of Babel, the New World Order of global, one-world government socialism - a tyrant's dream !

Illegals From Terror-Sponsoring Nations At Large in US

By Kevin Mooney
CNSNews.com Staff Writer

August 08, 2006(CNSNews.com) - Almost half of the illegal aliens arriving in the U.S. from terrorist-sponsoring or "special interest" nations in the past few years have been released into the American population following their apprehension. This key finding is published in an internal audit of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) obtained by Cybercast News Service . The so-called "catch and release" policies have allowed more than 45,000 illegal aliens from countries that are well known for their anti-American views or considered "hotbeds of Islamic fundamentalism" to be freed.

U.S. Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas), in conversations with sheriffs operating along the Texas-Mexico border, learned that illegal aliens of Middle Eastern descent have been able to blend into the culture south of the U.S. border and pass themselves off as Mexicans. "They learn Spanish and assimilate into the population," Poe said. "Coming across the Canadian border they would be more conspicuous."

Grandma is an outlaw

She didn't kill anyone. She didn't rob a bank. In fact, she didn't commit any illegal act. It's what she didn't do that made her an outlaw. We'll call her "Sally" – so the jackboots can't track her down.

Sally got up on the morning of Jan. 2 and went about her daily chores – fixing breakfast, feeding the animals and cleaning the house. Aside from the cold, and the new year, everything was pretty much as it had been everyday for many years. But today, Sally became an outlaw without even knowing it.

Way back in 2003, the Wisconsin Legislature enacted the Wisconsin Premises Registration Act, which became effective in November 2005. Sally, and everyone else in Wisconsin who owned even one chicken, horse, cow or any other livestock animal, was required to register her premises with the state by Jan. 1, 2006.

Sally didn't register her premises – and became an outlaw by doing nothing.

Santorum's Surrender?

By Joe Murray
August 7, 2006

(AgapePress) - "The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy," wrote Sun Tzu, "but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him." As the dust begins to settle on the battlefields that were home to a number of cultural skirmishes concerning the sanctity of marriage, one sees that the traditional marriage is forcing same-sex matrimony to retreat back into the closet from which it came.

In July alone, six key court cases were decided -- all in favor of traditional marriage. New York, Washington, Georgia, Connecticut, Nebraska, Tennessee -- and yes, even Massachusetts -- delivered rulings that supported the sanctity of marriage in one form or another. Thus three years after homosexual activists took to the streets of the Castro District to celebrate the Supreme Court's declaration that sodomy was a fundamental right, it appears that the summer of 2006 will bring down the curtain on the "summers of sodomy" that preceded it.

But is all lost for the homosexual movement? Have the hands of time been turned back as to erase all the good accomplished by Will & Grace? Will the love that dare not speak its name be forever muted? Not a chance. Enter Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC).

Mom starts anti-depressants awareness group

10:57 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 2, 2006

By YOLANDA WALKER / WFAA-TV

DALLAS - Three weeks ago, Valeria Maxon of Mansfield allegedly drowned her one year old son in a backyard hot tub.

In 2004, police say Dena Schlosser cut off her baby girl’s arms in McKinney.

A Tyler jury found Deanna Laney guilty of stoning her two young sons to death.

And in 2001, Andrea Yates confessed to using a bathtub to drown her five children in Houston.
They are all Texas cases of mothers accused of murdering their children.

Shortly after giving birth to Isaac, Amy Philo of Frisco believed she could have been the next mom to make news.

"I had a hallucination where I was walking past the stairs to put the baby down and I like look over and I see myself throw the baby down the stairs," Philo said.

She described, in disturbing detail, images she experienced about taking her son’s life and her own.

"I could visualize myself literally like walking in front of a moving truck on the highway," she explained.

Isaac is now two-years-old, and Philo is mentally sound.

Recently, she announced another new arrival. Her new “baby” is called C.H.A.A.D.A., or “Children and Adults Against Drugging America.” It’s a national organization with about 150 members, so far.

Through an awareness Web site, members communicate about anti-depressants on the market including Paxil, Cymbalta, Effexor, Prozac and Zoloft.

Please read more here.

Different Views of the Millennium

By Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas

Traditionally there have been great men of God and theologians that have advocated these different views of the Millennium throughout Church history. And while they may disagree to the manner and time of Christ’s return, they all agree that Christ will return personally, visibly, and with great glory. They also agree that at His coming the dead are raised, judgment is executed, and eventually an eternal state will be established.

Amillennial

Amillennialists do not hold to a literal “one thousand year reign of Christ on earth” interpretation of Scripture. There will be according to this system of thought no worldwide peace, either before Christ returns (Postmillennialism) and since they reject the literal Premillennial reign of Christ, there will be no thousand year rule of Christ seated in Jerusalem over the world either.

Amillennialism believes that there are two parallel kingdoms, the Kingdom of God (a present reality) and the kingdom of darkness that run side by side until the second coming of Christ. No one kingdom shall dominate the other until Jesus returns to break up the fight. At the second coming of Christ the resurrection and judgment will take place. The eternal order and the absolute Kingdom of God will then be established in perfection. There will be the cessation of all sin, suffering, and death, the final enemy, will be conquered once and for all.

The main Scriptures the Amillennialists derive their doctrine comes from Jesus’ teaching on the Kingdom parables, specifically, the parable concerning the Wheat and the Tares. For your own personal study read Matthew 13 to glean the Amillennial position.

Premillennial

This view teaches that there will be a period of world-wide peace and righteousness for a literal thousand years. The second coming of Christ triggers His millennial reign upon earth at Jerusalem and will extend in real time to the end of the world. There are varying views even within the Premillennial camp that concern the order of events that lead to Christ’s millennial reign. Regardless, they all agree in holding to a literal thousand year reign of Christ after he returns to the end of the world and the eternal state.

Dispensationalism

Dispensationalism, is one of a few theological strains that flow from the Premillennial view of the end times. J. N. Darby and the Schofield Reference Bible popularized this particular interpretation of Scripture starting in the 1830s. It seeks to divide God’s covenantal dealings with mankind in history into seven distinct periods or “dispensations.” According to this view God deals with mankind based upon one specific principle during each period.

This view places great difference between Israel and the Church and tends to pit the law against grace, to the point that they are mutually exclusive principles. One of the main differences that separates dispensationalism from the historic Premillennial position is their teaching that the Church will not go through the “Tribulation.” This runs contrary to the historic Premillennial view that teaches the Church will go through the “Tribulation.”

According to the Dispensational view of the end times, the Church will be raptured out of the world, quite possibly within our generation. This will mark the beginning of a period of seven years in which the first half will be defined by the Jews becoming involved in a covenantal relationship with a future “Antichrist,” a literal human being possessed by Satan himself, and the last half of this period marked by the Jews enduring terrible persecutions under the same “Antichrist.”

At the end of this period, Christ returns physically to earth, annihilates the Antichrist, and establishes His reign in Jerusalem. The Jews at this point return to God’s special position of favor and are to remain a distinct body from the Gentiles throughout eternity.

Another novel feature of Dispensationalism is its doctrine that when the Jews rejected Jesus Christ’s offer of the Davidic Kingdom, God allegedly withdrew the offer to a future period. Since Christ had come for that purpose and supposedly the Jews had thwarted that purpose, the Lord created a contingent plan called the Church. The Church became a temporary substitute, a parenthesis period, during which God deals with man through the Church until the rapture.

Once the Church is taken away God reverts back to His original dealings with the Jews in a rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem, where, once again, animal sacrifices are offered up to Christ who is seated upon the Davidic throne.

Postmillennialism

This view holds that the Kingdom of God is a present reality similar to the Amillennial view. It extends throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel and the saving work of the Holy Spirit. Under this system of theology, the world will eventually become Christianized. The return of Christ will occur only after a long period of righteousness and peace.

It is interesting to note that only the Postmillennial position allows for the Great Commission to be fulfilled in time and history (Matthew 28:18-20). Premillennialism and Amillennialism both view the great Commission as a mere witness to the nations. Only Postmillennialism holds to the view that the Church must “disciple the nations.”

This view does not hold that there will ever be a time on this earth where every person will be saved and sin abolished. It does hold, however, that evil in its destructive forms will be curtailed and the Christian worldview will dominate the nations before Christ returns.

On going to hell

By Wayne Harris

What qualifies a person for hell?

One of the first qualifications for an eternal trip to hell is to die. Some say, “I’ll surely go to heaven. I’ve been in hell here on earth.” According to the Bible, you have not been in hell on earth. Hell is after life. Death is a prerequisite for a soul to enter hell.

Another qualification for getting into hell is to do nothing. You do not have to try to get into hell. Just be your sinful self. Live every day the way you have lived every day since you were born. Do what comes natural. Do not change. Going to hell is effortless.

Along with doing nothing is doing something. The something that you can intentionally do to attain an eternity in hell is to reject Jesus Christ. Do not accept God’s plan of saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Count on being in hell.

“Can I escape hell once I am there?” someone might ask. No! Once your life on planet earth is finished, there will be no after-life reprieves. Take what God offers now. Once you stop breathing and your heart stops pumping it is over.

“Don’t I have to be a bad person like Hitler, Ted Bundy or Jezebel to go to hell?” someone might ask.

Romans 3:23 (KJV) reads, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

God is holy and perfect. There is no sin in God. God cannot and will not tolerate sin. You cannot enter heaven as a sinful vessel. Your sin must be dealt with before you can enter the kingdom of heaven. Before you can spend forever with God the Father your sin must be washed away by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.

It is not how much havoc you have inflicted on mankind that sends you to hell. The question is not whether you have been a serial killer or an immoral person. The question is, “Are you a sinner whose sins have not been washed away by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ?” If Jesus Christ is not your Savior you are lost. You are a lost sinner.

Who will be in hell? You might find the sweet little school teacher everyone loved. What? How could that be? If she never had her sins washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ, there is your answer. You can be sweeter than maple syrup and still go to hell.

In hell you might find that awesome basketball player you idolized. “Hey, he was a nice guy,” you might argue. Being a great athlete will not keep anyone out of hell. Being a lost sinner certainly destines even the hall of fame star to an eternity away from God.

In hell you might find kings, presidents, emperors, movie stars, ministers and a host of others. “Ministers?” you ask. Yes. Not everyone behind a pulpit has been washed in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.

I have met sheep in wolves’ clothing. For example, I knew an Army chaplain who wore a cross and held an endorsement from a major denomination. Unfortunately, he was a New Age proponent. I asked him why he masqueraded as a Christian minister.

For a man, woman, boy or girl to wear a Jesus mask while having never met the Savior, the Son of God, Jesus, is to play a dangerous game. Playing Christian and not being a Christian wins no points with God. Either you are a Christian, or you are not. All the clerical robes in the universe will not let you cross through the gates of heaven. A sewn cross on a military uniform does not make a person a Christian. Only Jesus can save a lost sinner’s soul.

Someone once said, “I don’t mind going to hell. All of my friends will be there.”

That is like saying, “I should have been in the World Trade Center tower on September 11, 2001. All of my friends were there.”

Get real. Hell can be avoided. Run to Jesus as fast as you can!
