It Can’t Happen Here?

I’m sure the title of this message has been a phrase that has been uttered in many nations throughout mankind’s bloody history. I’m sure the Czar of Russia, the King of France, and the nation of Germany all were convinced that the Communist revolt, the French Revolution, and the Nazi holocaust would never happen, especially, under their watch. Their one common denominator, however, is they were all dreadfully mistaken. The unspeakable did happen and when it did, unprecedented bloodshed and injustice ran rampant.
As one looks at history, how can we account for a nation like Germany? They reached the heights of the Reformation and then descended into becoming the land of the holocaust? How did this civilized, sophisticated nation become reduced to brutal barbarism? What created the climate that allowed a demonic, madmen like Hitler convince the German people to cooperate with his “Final Solution?”
I believe we live in a time in America when we need to pull our collective heads out of the sand and answer these historical questions before we are condemned to repeat the same folly. For years, Hitler indoctrinated Germany and cultivated the culture to follow his vision from Hades. He captured the civil government, attacked the Bible, silenced the Church, captured the youth with Nazi propaganda, and dehumanized the Jewish people. Thus his dream of the “thousand year reign” of the Third Reich turned into a nightmare that catapulted the entire world into a bloody war.
Whether we want to face reality or not, America is in the process of following this same primrose path today. For decades, there has been a systematic assault against America’s godly heritage, the Christian faith, and the Biblical principles that has produced the freest, most blessed, and prosperous nation on the face of the earth.
Since the turbulent 1960s, the Supreme Court has used their considerable power to perpetrate a social experiment on America. They have repeatedly rendered one disastrous decision after another. Their judicial activism has paved the way to remove the knowledge of God from the public life of our nation. As a result, the Bible is attacked, the Church is threatened to keep silent in public affairs, American youth have been indoctrinated with humanistic propaganda, preborn children have been dehumanized in the womb, and the vilification of Christianity increases with each passing day. Sound familiar?
Consider this:
Today, there are more books from American authors warning our nation against the dangers of Christianity, than there are warnings against radical Islam.
General Pace mentions “Homosexuality is immoral” and the “powers that be” bear tooth and claw to suppress his free speech. Clearly, this censorship sends a distinct message that the Christian worldview will not be tolerated in public discourse. Thus it appears that if you desire an influential job, a greater position, or hope for advancement in America, you must sell your soul to the devil, deny the Christian faith, and dare not introduce moral absolutes that may offend America’s immoral sensibilities.
World Net Daily posts article after article demonstrating how evil is being codified into law and our culture is unraveling before our very eyes. One headline reads, “District gags 14-year-olds after 'gay' indoctrination 'Confidentiality' promise requires students 'not to tell their parents.'” In essence, the Deerfield High School coached the children to lie to their parents in order to avoid parents being upset by the school’s homosexual indoctrination.
In another article, WND reported, “In Massachusetts after a school repeatedly advocated for the homosexual lifestyle to students in elementary grades, several parents sued, only to have the federal judge order the ‘gay’ agenda taught to the Christians. The conclusion from U.S. District Judge Mark L. Wolf found that it is reasonable; indeed there is an obligation, for public schools to teach young children to accept and endorse homosexuality. Wolf essentially adopted the reasoning in a brief submitted by a number of homosexual-advocacy groups, who said 'the rights of religious freedom and parental control over the upbringing of children … would undermine teaching and learning…'"
You read this right. According to the inmate running the asylum (Judge Wolf, which is an appropriate name), homosexuals know better than parents what to teach and what is best for the learning of our young. In particular, Christians must submit their children to this indoctrination with no opportunity to opt out. Dare anyone say tyranny?
Another case in point is the Southern Poverty Law Center, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama. Their stated goal is to monitor hate groups and extremist activity in the United States. In times past, they have been champions against racial discrimination. In recent days, however, there focus has dramatically changed. No longer do they seek to just prosecute the KKK. No! Their new enemy to prosecute is fundamental Christians. They send out reports to our civil government listing Christians who are actively engaged in our culture and label them as the new “hate groups” that promote “extremist activities.”
Just the other day, a New Jersey School held a mock drill and staged a “hostage situation.” Care to guess who the enemy was? Care to know the fanatical terrorists that attacked their school? If you guessed Muslims, you would not only be politically incorrect, you would be factually incorrect as well. No! The psychos were portrayed as, you guessed it, Christians.
The TV sitcoms and Hollywood movies continually spew out their vitriol hatred against God and the Christian faith. When confronted, they claim artistic freedom. Why doesn’t their artistic freedom extend to other religions and philosophical groups? What makes the Christian faith, the only acceptable faith that can be publicly maligned, mocked, and censored in the land where tolerance is the new idol before which America bows?
Our culture, government, schools, and media are being dominated by the faiths of humanism, evolution, and hedonism. They are following the same pernicious path that has diminished the glory of every nation that has been dominated by these idols fit for destruction. They instinctively know they cannot allow the Christian worldview to see the light of day in America again, lest their house of pagan cards collapse about them. This is what drives them to promote their godless worldviews at the expense of the Christian worldview. They have a huge problem, however. If they remain consistent with their godless worldviews, they will consume themselves, and every American will be forced to sludge through the fall out of their refuse.
Church in America, we must not remain silent anymore. It is time to break out of the Christian ghetto America has created. The religious apartheid must end. I don’t care if you lose your job, are passed over by a promotion, or go to jail. We must reclaim our prophetic voice and engage our culture, government, schools, and media with the claims of Christ and the truth of His Word. This is the faith and worldview that founded our great nation and it’s the only faith and worldview that can sustain our great nation. All else is sinking sand and broken cisterns that can’t hold water.
If we fail in this hour when the enemies of the cross are emboldened to the degree they are in our nation’s history, we will have no one to blame, except for ourselves, when they come for our children and our grandchildren. It can’t happen here? Tell that to Russia, France, and Germany. I’m sure they will understand your deception.

When we are told in Deuteronomy 1:17 that in courts of law “the judgment is God’s,” it means the judge administers God’s law faithfully. Similarly, we are told that just weights and balances are the Lord’s (Prov. 16:11).
All courts of law therefore are to administer God’s justice, not man’s. In the Bible, the words for “justice” and “righteousness” are identical. God’s salvation means for us Christ’s righteousness applied to us, to give us a new standing before God. In our relationships with our fellow men, we are to apply God’s righteousness, justice or law.
One of our problems today is that humanism enthrones man’s word above God’s Word, and man’s law above God’s law. Benjamin Franklin said, “Honesty is the best policy”; Friedrich Nietzsche later held that dishonesty is the best policy. Our Biblical requirement is that we be honest, whether or not it is the best policy for us. Our human situation or judgment cannot take priority over the Word of God.
We are very much in need of a return to God’s Word as the command word, the judgment word which must stand. Our humanistic judgments have damaged our courts badly, and they have messed up many human lives. I hear too many church people say, “I think,” instead of, “Thus saith the Lord,” when they are talking about matters where Scripture is plainspoken. We can edit, amend, revise, or vote down a legislative measure proposed in state chambers, but we have no such amending or veto powers with God’s Word. If His Word does not stand with us, we cannot stand before Him.

Onward Christian Soldiers

With muddy boots and wounds from enemy attacks, onward Christian soldiers. The spirit of this age seeks to strike fear into the hearts of true believers in Jesus Christ. Fear not! If God is for you who can be against you?
We must speak and live the truth no matter what. Do not be dominated by political correctness. Raise the banner of Christ for all to see. Our correctness comes from heaven above. When you speak God’s Word you are correct.
As darkness closes in let your light, the Light of Jesus Christ, the light of revelation, shine. Take up your cross and follow Jesus. You must march through ridicule, humiliation and aggravation. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.
Resist the temptation to fight in your own power. It is by His Spirit that we win the battles. It is the example of His only begotten Son Jesus that we follow. His truth counters that the lies of this age.
As Christian soldiers, we open our ears to our Commander’s commands. We go when our Lord says, “Go!” We wait when He says, “Wait!” Wearing the helmet of truth, we receive knowledge and wisdom to deal with those that seek to devour us. As they shoot fiery darts, we deflect them with the shield of faith. We wear the preparation of the gospel of peace on our feet. We walk swiftly into battle with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The breastplate of righteousness protects us as we march onward with the cross of Jesus going on before us. We raise the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and tangle with all enemies. Our enemies are not flesh and blood. They are spiritual enemies. That is why we rely on the Holy Spirit of God to empower us. We receive power from on high after the Holy Spirit has come upon us.
Truth dictates our actions. We wear the belt of truth as we speak, live and spread the truth. The truth sets people free. The world is confused because liars have cropped up everywhere. Onward Christian soldiers, girded with the truth.
The spiritual war rages around the globe. The name of Jesus Christ is under assault within and outside of our nation. Many call us “infidels”. Men full of hate murder Christians for no reason other than our faith.
Do not despair, brothers and sisters. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is in charge. Jesus Christ is King of kings. He will gain the victory in all spiritual battles. The spirit of anti-Christ is doomed. Jesus will rescue His bride.
Take up your Ephesians armor and face the attacks with confidence in the Lord. He will provide. He will decide. He will abide.
Onward Christian soldiers, fall on your knees in prayer. The God who opened the Red Sea for His children can do it again. The God who raised His Son from the grave can do anything. He can forgive your sins. He can heal the sick. He can cast out demons. He can defeat enemy armies anywhere, anytime.
The God who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah can destroy those that assault His sheep. His little church of Christian soldiers trudged on while the mightiest conquerors of Rome fell to defeat. Take a trip to Rome. Look at the pathetic ruins that remain. Travel to Babylon and try to find the once thriving city that did not listen to Jehovah God.
We serve a risen Savior. He is in the world today. A thousand may stand on one side of us. Ten thousand may stand on the other. They may be readying their weapons to destroy us. As God intervenes, they will not harm us. Abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Lift your hands up from inside the mighty fortress of God and expect the victory.
Enemy forces are readying themselves to march on Israel. Beware workers of iniquity, for Israel has a Defender. He is the One that defends Christians, too. He will step forward and put an end to the aggression.
The battle belongs to the Lord. Christians, let us cheer for our Deliverer!

The Difference Between Conservative and Christian Civil Rulers

At any moment we are either imaging Christ (Keeping His laws), or Satan (breaking Christ’s laws by living according to our rules). Approaching your legislative duties from an exclusively Christian perspective (imaging Christ) may seem an overwhelming task. And well it would be without the Creator God’s help. The thought of having the Creator God in your corner, watching over you and directing your every move through His reveled Word should more than offset any “peer pressure” to image Satan. The difference it makes in being a Christian is that we have God guiding us, and blessing our obedience!

* How can we expect to improve on God’s will by living according to our ideas?
* Since the Triune God has brought us out of darkness and into light, why are we more concerned about how people will respond to His truth, than we are about how He will respond to our compromising His truth? There is no biblical warrant for religious pluralism.
The ultimate question is “Under which ideas shall we live … true or false ones?” To compromise with the proponents of false ideas is to agree that society's problems are not inside us (a sinful heart), but are outside us (bad family or social environment, bad education). Such a position leads to dealing only with the symptoms of what ills society. The results are:
* more civil government programs
* higher taxes
* the continuation of culture’s problems
Your duty is to be Biblically correct, not politically correct.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Freedom for All Except...

One of our most treasured freedoms in this nation is codified in the First Amendment to the Constitution, which states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
In particular is the right to public dissent and the freedom to express personal opinions that criticize specific ideas, positions, policies, and institutions. This freedom is essential to a free society in which ideas are allowed to compete for acceptance. Conversely this freedom also allows for the public condemnation of ideas that are believed to be false, and harmful to persons and society. This is essential to healthy debate within a pluralistic society where ideas, both good and bad, have the right to be expressed. It is this form of pluralism that then allows for such concepts as conversion. Opposing ideologies can freely compete for supremacy in the marketplace of ideas and observers can be converted to one position or the other based upon the merits of the given arguments, evidence and facts.
Practically, this means that even the most offensive ideas have the right to be expressed. This is necessary because there can be no attempt to preempt “offensive ideas” without first establishing an a priori standard that says some ideas are bad and of course this requires judgment of some kind from someone. This is precisely what the First Amendment is designed to limit – the right of “someone” in a position of governmental power to judge some speech acceptable and some not. Granted this is not an unlimited right; obscenity, slander, and libel are not protected under the First Amendment but the central aim of this amendment was to limit the government’s suppression of the broadest possible expression of ideas and opinions.
